HOTELAND LODGES |
| Nearly every resort has it’s own hotel, or hotels of different standards to suit a range of budgets. If it’s your first time visiting the snow, this could be your easiest option. Everything is at-hand and easily accessible and you can enjoy the buzz of people coming and going to the mountain. Hotels often have a spa and games rooms as well the usual bars and restaurants. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, either, so keep an eye out for great deals. |
* TIP |
| Booking ahead is the best way to go to take advantage of great deals. Some resorts will offer a snow guarantee, which means you will be refunded the cost of your stay if there’s no snow when you visit. |
LODGES |
| Ski lodges have been a tradition for more than a century. And this is probably the most traditional snow experience you can find. It doesn’t get much better than cosy fires, great food, good company and snow right at your door. Most lodges are privately owned and are similar to a large home with everything provided and meals cooked for you. There’s often a community feel to a lodge, which suits families or groups of friends. Lodges are usually right on the snow and you can often ski or snowboard straight from your front door. If this is what you’re after for your trip to the snow, check to see the lodge your considering is ski-in/ski-out. Many are linked to the resort, even if they’re not owned by them, so transport is provided to and from the ski lifts and resort entertainment facilities. |
* TIP |
| As with all accommodation, our tip is to book ahead and find a good package that includes food and or equipment. |
